Components

 


According to the Vishnu Purana, the garland prominently displays five precious gemstones: 

  1. emerald, 
  2. sapphire, 
  3. ruby, 
  4. pearl, and 
  5. diamond. 

These correspond with the five classic elements commonly named 

  1. earth, 
  2. water, 
  3. fire, 
  4. air, and 
  5. ether respectively.
